Homemade Shisha
It is very easy and
inexpensive to make your own home made shisha to smoke in your hookah.
To make shisha, you will need: loose tobacco (preferably American Spirit
or another brand that uses no additives), honey or molasses, vegetable
glycerin and something to flavor the shisha with. Glycerin can be found
at health food stores or some drug stores. A mortar and pestle or an
herb grinder are helpful if you are using
dried herbs to flavor your shisha.
 |
Begin making your shisha by selecting
a flavor for your shisha. (see
recipes at the bottom of the page) Dried ingredients work
best. Consider using some of these herbs. |
 |
Pulverize your dried ingredients in a
mortar or in an herb grinder. |
 |
For quality shisha, make only a small
amount (a few bowls worth). See the pie
chart below for ratios of ingredients. |
 |
Mix the pulverized herbs or dried
fruit with the loose tobacco in a small container. Stop and
smell your mixture, your nose will let you know if you
have enough flavor. Then slowly pour the honey or molasses into
the mixture. (You may heat the honey or molasses to make it
easier to work with) Stir to coat everything evenly. |
 |
Once your shisha is mixed, slowly add
the glycerin and stir it into the mixture. The glycerin helps
give your shisha the smooth smoke by preventing the tobacco from
charring. |
 |
Cover your homemade shisha and let it
marinate overnight for amazing flavor. Try different
water recipes along with your homemade
shisha to enhance its' flavor. |
